    -Active and passive voice, formatting tools, parallel structure, clear pronoun references, avoidance of dummy subjects and camouflaged verbs

  5. Use a positive, compelling tone that gets results

  6. Apply concepts directly to your writing

  7. Use the comma and semicolon correctly

  8. Use numbers and percentages to increase clarity


Practical, Easy Methods and Content
 

The instructional methods and content are designed for optimum ease of learning.  Instruction is strongly reinforced with workbook content, review, and practices.  Emphasis is on concept retention and application to participants’ documents. 

 Intended For

This workshop is appropriate for people who have completed the full Power Tools for Business Writing course and who want to reinforce and review key concepts.  The workshop is also appropriate for good writers who have not had the full course but want to take their writing to the next level.

 Prerequisites

Participants are expected to be skilled in spelling and grammar essentials, including basic sentence and paragraph development.

Business Writing Application, by Julie Levitt, is provided for each course participant.  This collection of easy tools to improve business writing effectiveness is both a learning tool and an efficient reference for future use.  The book reflects current business trends and standards.
